Answer:

The diagram on the bottom right is the one that best represents the information.

Explanation:

The rate at which a train travels is known as its speed and it is equal to the distance traveled divided by the time elapsed.

  • The diagram on the top left shows a train travels 0.5 miles in 24 hours. Its speed is 0.5 mi/24 h = 0.021 mi/h ≠ 48 mi/h.
  • The diagram on the top right shows a train travels 2 1/2 miles (2.5 miles) in 120 hours. Its speed is 2.5 mi/120 h = 0.021 mi/h ≠ 48 mi/h.
  • The diagram on the bottom left shows a train travels 8 miles in 6 hours. Its speed is 8 mi/6 h = 1.3 mi/h ≠ 48 mi/h.
  • The diagram on the bottom right shows a train travels 168 miles in 3.5 hours. Its speed is 168 mi/3.5 h = 48 mi/h.
