- Because of Franco-Prussian War, Germany gained respect from Austria-Hungary and they formed and alliance
- Because of the Blank Check between Germany and Austria-Hungary, if Austria were to ever go in war (attack, or be attacked) Germany would have to help. This explains why Austria wasn't scared to go to war with Serbia.
- Because of the Treaty of London, if Belgium were ever invaded, Britain would have to help and support the country which was the reason as to why Britain helped during the Schleifen Plan.
- If a country on one side of the alliance attacked the other than all countries who are in the alliance would be forced to fight in war - what happened in WWI
