A restaurant has square dining tables. THey will place table setting on each table so that there is a distance of 2 feet from each corner to a table setting. The 3 tables settings on each side will be 3 feet apart. WHat is the perimeter of one table

The table setting is at the center of each table.

Distance from one edge of the table to the setting is 2ft

Also, the distance between the table setting is 3ft

Then, applying Pythagoras theorem

c² = a² + b²

2² = x² + 1.5²

4 = x² + 2.25

4—2.25 = x²

x² = 1.75

x = √1.75

x = 1.323 ft

Then, perimeter of a plane shape is the sum of all the lengths of the shape

Therefore, perimeter of table 1 is

P = 2x + 2x + 2x + x + x

P = 8x

Since x = 1.323ft

Then, P = 8x

P = 8 × 1.323

P = 10.583 ft

The perimeter of each table is 10.583 ft.
