lets do this the elimination way. to do this, you multiply the bottom equation by three, and now you have
2x-3y=13
9x+3y=9

lets add these two equations together. you get
11x=22
x=2
now substitute 2 for x in the first equation.
2(2)-3y=13
4-3y=13
-3y=9
y=-3

y=-3, x=2
