From the graph we notice that the trend line passes through the points (3,2) and (10,5) and we know that the equation of a line is given by:

y-y_1=(y_2-y_1)/(x_2-x_1)(x-x_1)

Plugging the values of the points we found we have:

\begin{gathered} y-2=(5-2)/(10-3)(x-3) \\ y-2=(3)/(7)(x-3) \\ y-2=(3)/(7)x-(9)/(7) \\ y=(3)/(7)x-(9)/(7)+2 \\ y=(3)/(7)x+(5)/(7) \\ y=0.42x+0.7 \end{gathered}

Renaming variable y as g(x) we have that:

g(x)=0.42x+0.7
