A camera has a listed price of

$851.98
before tax. If the sales tax rate is
9.25%
, find the total cost of the camera with sales tax included.

The total cost of the camera would be 930.79

Why: To find the tax, you move the decimal over to the left in 9.25, twice making it .925. After that you multiply 851.98 by .925. THat gives you the sales tax itself which is $78.81. But its not over yet. You add that 78.81 from 851.98 and you will get 930.79 which is the total cost.

To start, you have to take 851.98 and multiply it by 0.925, and you should get 788.0815 then with that number you subtract 788.0815 from 851.98 and get 63.8985, your amount of tax. You are going to add the $63.8985 to your original price of 851.98 and get $915.8785... soo about $915.88.

P.S.: Hope I helped :)
