I am assuming you're stating her suitcase is 5,814 pounds? I'm not sure what spacings are meant for the correct number

1 pound = 16 ounces

In order to find it you will need this equation to make it easier --

#pounds - 50pounds = ___pounds needed to deduct

V
___ pounds x 16oz = however many ounces needed to
deduct

No they are not equal. If you were to put them into fractions,(1/3 and 3/10) 3/10 would not simplify down to 1/3, making it unequal
