A midsegment is given by the formula:

(x1+x2)/(2) , (y1+y2)/(2)

Where x1, x2, y1, and y2 correspond to their respective coordinates. We can do the equation:

(-3+5)/(2) , (-1+3)/(2)
This gets us a midpoint coordinate of (1,1)

As for distance, it will be found by doing:

√((x2-x1)^2+(y2-y1)^2)
We can do the following:

√((5-(-3))^2+(3-(-1))^2)

√((8)^2+(4)^2)

√(64+16)
This simplifies to
4 √(5)
