A person is holding two drill beats one is 3/8 and the other one is 11/32. To decide which is smaller the person expands to 3/8 to 32nds. What is the expanded fraction?

Required; To find which is smaller

Step 2

Expand 3/8 to the 32nds. We do this by making sure the denominator of 3/8 is 32. We, therefore, multiply both the numerator and denominator by 4.


=(3*4)/(8*4)
=(12)/(32)
