Why was communism more accepted in Asia after World War 1?

Most of Asia was colonized. They liked the idea that they could all be equals and have a communist government that didn't have an emperor or a foreign force to rule them. They would have their independence and could govern the country so that all people benefit. They were also kind of close to the Soviet Union which supported communist efforts throughout the world so they had a bloc to reach out to for help.
