Given:

Nadia spent 1/4 of her money in skirts and 2/5 of her money on shoes

So, total =

(1)/(4)+(2)/(5)=?

The Least common denominator of 4 and 5 = 20

So,

\begin{gathered} (1)/(4)=(5)/(20) \\ (2)/(5)=(8)/(20) \\ \\ (1)/(4)+(2)/(5)=(5)/(20)+(8)/(20)=(13)/(20) \end{gathered}

So, she spent 13/20 of her money

The change will be =

1-(13)/(20)=(20)/(20)-(13)/(20)=(7)/(20)

So, she got 7/20 of her money.
