we have the equation

y=2x+12

Remember that

If two lines are parallel, then their slopes are equal

so

The slope of the given line is m=2

therefore

The slope of the parallel line is m=2 too

step 2

Find out the equation of the parallel line in slope-intercept form

y=mx+b

we have

m=2

point (2,10)

substitute and solve for b

10=2(2)+b

10=4+b

b=6

therefore

The equation of the line is

y=2x+6
