In order to find the equation of the line that crosses trough the given points, cionsider that the general form of a linear equation is:

y = mx + b

or

y - yo = m(x - xo)

where m is the slope of the line, b the y-intercept and (xo,yo) is a point of the line.

In order to calculate the slope of the line, use the following formula:

m = (y2 - y1)/(x2 - x1)

where, for this case, (x1,y1) = (1,-5) and (x2,y2) = (3,3). Replace these values into the formula for m:

m = (3 - (-5))/(3 - 1)

m = 8/2

m = 4

next, replace the value of m and the point (xo,yo) = (3,3) and solve for y:

y - 3 = 4(x - 3)

y - 3 = 4x - 12

y = 4x - 12 + 3

y = 4x - 9

Hence, the equation of the line is

y = 4x - 9
