One day at 3:00 a.m., the temperature was -13 degrees F in kodiak, Alaska. At 10:00 a.m., the temperature was 22 degrees F. Whta was the average change in temperature per hour?

If you find the difference between the times and temperatures, you find there is a 7-hour difference and a 35-degree difference. If you divide 7 by 7, you get one hour, so you divide 35 by 7 to get 5.
Every hour, it gets 5 degrees warmer.

every hour the average of the temperature going up is 5 degrees F...
the difference of 3 am and 10 am is 7 hours...
22--13 is 35..
divided by 7
the answer is 5
