Work:
$3 x 7 = $21
$5.50 x 7 = $38.50
$38.50 + $21= $59.50
Derek spend $59.50 in a week.

this question has several steps. Derek goes to school 5 days a week. Add 5.50 and 3 together and multiply it by 5.
5.50 + 3= 8.50
8.50 × 5= 42.5
42.5 is the answer
