There were 512 cups of water in a cooler before a soccer game. After the soccer game there were 384 cups of water in the cooler. There are 16 cups in a gallon.

Explanation:

If there were 512 cups of water in a cooler before a soccer game and after the soccer game there were 384 cups of water in the cooler, the cups of water remaining after the game will be 512 - 384 which is 128cups of water.

Since there are 16 cups in a gallon, to get the number of gallons remaining, the total number of cups of water will be divided by number of cups in a gallon i.e 128/16 = 8

This shows that our Dividend is 128, divisor is 16 and quotient which is the required value is 8.

It can be concluded that there are 8gallons of water used during the soccer game.
