President Johnson’s Reconstruction Plan was different than Lincoln’s plan, he was more favorable for the Southern demands. He stated that the Southern States should write a new constitution, elect a new government and ratify the 13th Amendment. But eventually, Johnson let the Southern States restrict the voting rights of African Americans which led to the Black Codes, that were a series of laws that restricted a series of African American rights.
