A human body that is performing light work generates about 650 BTUs of body heat per hour. If a storage room that is 20 ft × 25 ft × 10 ft is being organized by 4 people, how many BTUs per cubic foot do they produce in 4 hours? (to the nearest tenth)

Answer:

you are correct but you'll have to round it because the answer doesn't show that so it'll be 2.1 BTUs/ft3

There is 650 BTUs per hour/person and 4 people so that is a total of 2600 BTUs. In 4 hours it would be a total of 10400 BTUs. The volume of the storage room is 20 x25 x10 ft or 5000 cu ft. So 10400/5000 = 2.08 BTUs per cubic foot.
