Which group of Americans prefered the Missouri Compromise and why?

Whose voices were absent in the decision over whether or not to permit slavery in territories and why were they ignored?

Im learning about the Missouri Compromise and the Kansas-Nebraska act, so this is what the questions are based off of. Plz help!

The northerners preferred the Missouri Compromise because it meant that slavery could not seep into their side of the US. (Since most to all northerners were abolitionists.
