please tell me how to do percent proportions! c/o AND p/w! please explain thoroughly. all i really need to know is how to write the equation!

total animals--------> 500

25% ----> reptiles

30% fish

rest are mammals

Find out the percentage of the rest

we have taht

100%-(25%+30%)=100%-55%=45%

so

45% -----> mammals

applying proportion

REmember that

100% -------> 500 animals

so

500/100%=x/45%

solve for x

x=(500/100)*45

x=225

therefore

the answer is 225 mammals
