A renewable resource is when it can be used over and over again, like solar energy, and a nonrenewable resource is when something can not be used again and is hard to find, like coal.

Renewable- is an unlimited natural resource, example: wind, solar power, water
Non renewable- once it has run out cannot be replaced, example: coal, iron ore, oil
