Name the function rule from the table given

y = x – 3

y = x + 3

y = 2x – 1

y = -2x – 1

Answer:

y=2x-1

Explanation:

Let the function is given as

f(x)=ax+b

Given that

f(0)=-1

Hence

a(0)+b=-1

b=-1

Also goven that

f(-2)=-5

a(-2)+b=-5

-2a-1=-5

-2a=-5+1

-2a=-4

Dividing both sides by -2

a=2

Hence our function becomes

f(x)=2x-1
