You have to make sure to do all the multiplication before any of the addition. This is a rule called "the order of operations". (You have to do the operation of multiplication before doing the operation of addition.)

So, first you multiply 1x0. You get 0. There are still 12 1's to add. Adding them, you get 12. The answer is 12.

It would be 0 because anything multiplied by 0 is 0. Hope this helped
