it makes it easier and les likely to make mistkae
would you rather do
3(x+4-2+2x) or
3(3x+2)

You would get different answers if you didn't follow the rule of PEMDAS, or the order of operations: Parentheses, Exponents, Multiply, Divide, Add, and Subtract, in that order.
