A=xy, A=3/8 and y=3/4

3/8=3x/4

12/8=3x

4/8=x

x=1/2 mile

So the width of the parking lot is 1/2 mile.

3/8 divide 3/4
3/8 multiply 4/3
= 1/2 mile long
