On average, there will be 167 students in each lecture

Here, we want to get the average number of students that will be in each of the lectures

Mathematically, we proceed to solve this by dividing 500 by 3

Dividing this, we have;

(500)/(3)\text{ = 166.667}

Since we cannot have a fractional human, we have to round this up to the nearest integer (whole number)

This division to the nearest whole number is 167
