D. Emergency Banking Relief Act (EBRA)
This act was passed immediately after Franklin D. Roosevelt came into office. He saw the dying banks in our economy (the Great Depression), and knew something had to be done. The banks where giving out too many loans and where collapsing. So FDR created the Emergency Banking Relief Act that would close all banks for a day. During this time bank smaller banks merged with bigger stronger banks, and money was collected.
