Hi, lets remember Area= 1/2 base x hiegth so:
A = 36in^2 = (1/2)x(2x)
36in^2 = x^2
6in = x, the base.
Height is 12in. (2*6in)
Checking the Answer
(1/2)6in*12in = 36in^2

A= 1/2 (b)(h) well all you need to do is plug in what you have. and then isolate the left variable which is h. 36 divided by half of 6 is 12.
