The more rapidly sedimentation occurs, the more likely it is that the remains will successfully form a fossil. As sedimentation continues, what happens to the amount of weight settling onto the organism?

As sedimentation continues, the surface area of the weight that have settled to the bottom becomes greater. This allows for greater number of organism to attach to it. Thus, the answer for this item is that the weight settling onto the organism becomes greater.
