If the function f(x) translated h units right and k units down, then its equation will be

g(x) = f(x - h) - k

Since the given function is


y=\log (x)

Since it is shifted 1 unit right and 2 units down, then

h = 1 and k = 2

By using the rule above, then the new equation is


y=\log (x-1)-2
