Answer: Length and breadth of the rug are 6 ft and 4 ft resp.

Explanation:

Let the length of the rug be x

Let the width of the rug be
(2)/(3)x

Area of the rug = 24 sq. feet

As we know the formula for rectangle:

Area=Length* breadth\\\\24=x* (2x)/(3)\\\\24=(2x^2)/(3)\\\\24* 3=2x^2\\\\72=2x^2\\\\36=x^2\\\\x=6\ ft

So, length of the rug is 6 feet.

The breadth of the rug is
(2)/(3)* 6=4\ ft
