Given the circle of center z

QR = 12 , ST = 12 , UZ = 8 and VZ = 2x - 6

AS shown in the figure:

ZY ⊥ ST and ZW ⊥ QR

Given QR = ST = 12

So,

the line segment UZ = line segment VZ

So,

2x - 6 = 8

2x = 8 + 6

2x = 14

x = 14/2 = 7

And ZY is bisects the line segment ST

So,

SV is half the line segment ST

SV = 0.5 * 12 = 6

So, the answer is :

x = 7

SV = 6
