theater technician charges a $200 flat fee and 5% of all profits from ticket sales per show. If the technician made $400.00 on a show, how much total profit was there from ticket sales?

@JaguarGuy gave the correct answer but if you need an explanation of the work, here you go:
Total - fee = Commision
400 - 200 = 200

Commission = 5% of Profit
Commission x 20 = Profit
( x20 because 5% = 1/20)
200 x 20 = 4,000
Profit = 4,000

400-200 = 200, and 200* 20 = 4000. The total profit from the ticket sales was $4000.
