A food chain is a linear series of events in an ecosystem in which one organism is fed by another organism in order to make by their nutritional and energy requirements. A food chain includes trophic levels according to different types of feeding organisms. The energy distribution among these trophic levels takes place according to the 10% law. The law suggests that energy from lower trophic level in the food chain decreases in subsequent higher trophic levels.
