PLEASE HELP!!!! Given the equation y = 2x - 8, what is the slope and the y-intercept?

m = 2 and b = 8
m = 2 and b = -8
m = 8 and b = 2

y=mx+b
so m=2 and b=-8

By definition a line of the form y=mx+b tells you that the slope is m and the y-intercept is b, so by inspection, m=2 and b=-8
