A tank holds 1,000 gallons of syrup. Danielle filled 65 5-gallon cans with syrup. How much syrup was left in the tank when she finished?

If you multiply 65 and 5 you get 325
subtract 325 from 1000 you get 675

so there should be 675 gallons left

You first need to multiply 65*5, which gets you 325. You then subtract this from 1000, getting you 675 of syrup.

Hope this helps! <3
