The range of the data set will be changed when we exclude an outlier from the data set.

Explanation:

We know that the range of a data set is the difference of the maximum and the least i.e. minimum data value.

We know that a outlier is the value that stand out form the rest of the value i.e. either it is a too high or too low value as compared to other data values.

This means that the range is higher as the difference will be more.

Hence, when this outlier is removed the difference will get less and hence the range of the data set will be affected.
