how likely it is that an event will occur. you can find probabilities by reasoning mathematically or by using data collected from an experiment. p(event)

EXAMPLE: you have 4 red marlbes and 3 white marbls. the probability that you select one red marble and without replacing it/ putting it back and randomly select athoer red marble is p(red) = 4/7 times 3/6 = 2/7

also if you have 10 carrots ina bag and have 4 grapes and you contunie to pull out 3 of the carrots p(carrots) = 10 /14 (cause you add the two numbers together) times 4/ 6 (you use the number of carrots left as the denominator) what does it equal???

Probability is the likihood of something happening. Example: on a dice 1-6, the probabilty of you getting a 5 out of 6 (5/6)
