5x - 2y = 3
-5x + 4y = 9

2y =12
2y/2= 12/2
y = 6

5x - 2(6) = 3
5x -12 = 3
5x -12+12 = 3+12
5x = 15
5x/5 = 15/5
x = 3

Check
-5(3) + 4(6) = 9
-15+24=9
9=9
