The formula of quartz is as follows: SiO2 (Silicon and Oxygen). It is an oxide, with varying colors from colorless through a range of colors all the way to black. It has a Vitreous luster, and can be transparent to nearly opaque. It's melting point is from 1670 °C to 1713 °C. It is part of the trigonal crystal system. It's very common in sedimentary rocks such as sandstone and shale. These are just some common quartz facts. Have a good day!

It can be found In United States, Mexico, Brazil, Uruguay, Russia, France, Namibia and Morocco.

Quartz is the second most abundant mineral in Earth's continental crust, after feldspar. Its crystal structure is a continuous framework of SiO4 silicon–oxygen tetrahedra, with each oxygen being shared between two tetrahedra, giving an overall chemical formula of SiO2.
