Because Alice has 1/5 of Sylvester's cars, we know that she has 35 ÷ 5 as that is how you find 1/5. 35 ÷ 5 = 7, so your answer is 7 cars.
I hope this helps!

1/5 = 2/10 = 20/100 = 20% = 0.2
To find how many miniature cars Alice has, multiply how many Sylvester has by 0.2.
35 • 0.2 = 7
Alice has 7 miniature cars.
