The US government wants to allocate billions of dollars in the next 10 years to help assure our future energy security. The funds will be spread among a variety of possible energy resources. Where do you think the government should put the greatest support: solar energy, wind energy, clean coal, oil exploration, gas exploration, or a combination of sources? Are there other efforts that should be explored? Support your position with cited information for both questions.

According to the Department of Energy, the clean energy industry generated hundreds of billions in economic activity, and it is expected to continue to grow in the coming years. Clean energy is renewable, and it does not contribute to global warming or the greenhouse effect, some of the most serious dangers of our time.

Therefore, I would invest all the money in renewable, clean energy. This would include solar energy and wind energy in the options given. Oil, coal and gas are damaging pollutants, regardless of the way in which they are produced or used. Other sources I would also look at would be geothermal, water and biomass.
