The volume of the cylinder is given by the equation

V=\pi r^2h

In this problem we have

V=127.23 in3

r=3 in

substitute

\begin{gathered} 127.23=\pi(3)^2h \\ solve\text{ for h} \\ h=(127.23)/(9\pi) \\ \\ h=4.5\text{ in} \end{gathered}

The answer is 4.5 inches
