The length of a rectangle is 5.5 feet. If the area is 44 square feet, what is the width of the rectangle, in feet?

Area is length * width. Since the area is 44 and the length is 5.5, to find the width, simply divide the area by the length.

44 square feet / 5.5 feet = 8ft width

The width would be 8. Because to find the area it is length times width so you would divide 44 by 5.5
