Primary

A primary source is one that is a first-hand account of an event. It can take the form of a speech, document, interview, journal entry, letter, home video that was written, created, or recorded. Primary sources are considered the most reliable sources for explaining what happened in an event. The further the person is from the event, the less reliable they are at giving an accurate portrayal. Secondary sources are often used in research as well, but they are not as reliable as primary sources.
