Slope of a line can be found by

y~2 - y~1 / x~2 - x~1

The coordinates given are (-8,3) and (3,2)

2 - 3 / 3 - (-8) = - 1/11 this is your Slope, m

Use the Slope and either point to find b by substituting x and y and m values we know into

y=mx+b

2 = -1/11(3) + b simplify

2 = - 3/11 + b isolate b by adding 3/11 to both sides

22/11 + 3/11 = b = 25/11

Use m and b to write your equation.

y= - 1/11x + 25/11
