(\sqrt[4]{x^6})(\sqrt[16]{x^(12)})

can also be written as

(x^{(6)/(4)})(x^{(12)/(16)})

We can simplify the fractions into:

(x^{(3)/(2)})(x^{(3)/(4)})^{}

Applying the multiplication rule of the laws of exponents implies that when exponents with the same bases are multiplied, exponents are added together. In this case, we have the same base "x". So, what we will do is just add the exponents 3/2 and 3/4.

(3)/(2)+(3)/(4)=(6+3)/(4)=(9)/(4)

Therefore, the answer is x to the power of 9/4 or Option A.
