A relative maximum is a point in the graph the is the maximum relative to its surroundings.

Similarly, a relative minimum is a point on the graph the is the minimum relative to ists surroundings.

a. We can see in the graph that is a point to which the graph grow to a pick and then decreases:

As we can see, this is at -1 and the relative maximum is 3.

b. Here, we can see two relative minimums:

They are at -2 and 0 and the relative minimums are both -1.

Maximum: at -1 and its valut is 3

Minimum: at -2 and 0 and their values are -1 and -1.
