We can draw the following picture:

Since we have a right triangle with hypotenuse equal to 28ft, we can use the trigonometric function. That is, we can write the following relationships:


\begin{gathered} \sin 30=(RG)/(28) \\ \text{and } \\ \cos 60=(RG)/(28) \end{gathered}

both give the same result.

If we use the first one, we have


\begin{gathered} RG=28\cdot\sin 30 \\ \end{gathered}

since sin30=0.5, we have


\begin{gathered} RG=28\cdot(0.5) \\ RG=14 \end{gathered}

that is, RG = 14 ft, which corresponds to the first option
