Find the roots (x-intercepts/zeros) of the quadratic function f(x)=x^2-144.

To find roots, you set the function equal to 0.
0=x^2-144
You can factor this using the difference of perfect squares because 144 is a perfect square
0=(x-12)(x+12)
x=12 and x=-12 are your roots
